PHYS 232 Modern Physics
Introduces fundamental topics of 20th century physics, including special relativity, wave-particle duality, solutions of the Schrodinger equation in one dimension, and the formalism and postulates of quantum mechanics. Half-semester, 2-credit course, following PHYS 231 in the same time slot. Students may take
PHYS 232 alone or together with PHYS 231. Three hours of lecture per week for the second half of the semester.
