PSY203 Child Psychology

This course provides an overview of the physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development from conception to age 8 with an emphasis on the preschool years. Work will focus on understanding developmental milestones and using major developmental theories as tools to create strategies to meet the developmental needs of children from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in educational, social and family settings. Students may not receive credit for both PSY203 Child Psychology and PSY201 Developmental Psychology I: Childhood & Adolescence.
