Academic Residency Requirements
Academic residency is the status of being enrolled in credit courses at NECC. Academic residency is not the same as legal residency in the state of Massachusetts.
A minimum of 24 credits of course work for an associate degree program, and 12 credits of course work for a certificate program, must be completed at NECC in order to fulfill the academic residency requirement. CLEP and CLL credit cannot be used to fulfill the academic residency requirement.
Based on extenuating circumstances, exceptions to this policy can be made at the discretion and approval of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
