Discrete event digital simulation methodology. Monte Carlo techniques, use of simulation languages. Variance reduction techniques, design of simulation experiments and analysis of results.
Through completion of OA3302, the student should be able to:
· Demonstrate an understanding of when it is appropriate to simulate and when it is not.
· Demonstrate an understanding of how to create models of a moderately large system using process-based and event-driven simulation.
· Demonstrate an understanding of how to implement the model leveraging computer software.
· Demonstrate an understanding of how to analyze simulation output appropriately.
Demonstrate an understanding of how to make informed decisions or recommendations based on a simulation model and derived analysis.
