PT 740 Evaluation and Management of Patients with Neurological Disorders
Supports the development of proficiency in the physical therapy examination and management of adults with neurological dysfunction. Emphasis is on post-acute or rehab management of the patient, which typically occurs in a rehabilitation setting, long-term care facility/skilled nursing facility, home care environment, adult day care/community re-entry setting, or outpatient physical therapy clinic. Utilization of a consistent framework for examining and evaluating patients and justification of intervention/evidence-based practice is emphasized throughout the course. Offered fall semester only. A minimum grade of B- or better is required. Prerequisites: PT 700 through 735, IPE 715 and 716 with minimum grades of B- and PT 800. Corequisite: PT 741. (5)
