HPR 500 Exercise Physiology
Focuses on the acute and chronic effects of exercise on bioenergetics, endocrinology, and the cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular systems. Other areas of study include the pathophysiology of diseases associated with a sedentary lifestyle and the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of hypo kinetic diseases. Special populations will be examined with regard to exercise prescription. Minimum Grade Requirement: A grade of B- or better is needed to pass core courses. No course may be repeated more than once. Students who receive a grade below B- in three or more graduate courses are dismissed, even if courses were repeated for a higher grade. Students are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. (3)
