BIO 223SL Pathways in STEM: 2nd-Year Seminar
A seminar course for the second year Biology and Biochemistry major. This course will build on the material covered in the first-year seminar by continuing to expose students to the exciting career possibilities available to them in the fields of Biological and Biochemical Sciences. Students will gain a greater understanding of the power of science to solve real-world problems, be introduced to citizen science and how science plays a role in our everyday lives. Students will use science to help serve their community. The importance of iterative science will be emphasized and its clear communication in peer-reviewed journals as primary research articles will be examined. Students will build their resumes and learn how to search for internships. A minimum course grade of C- is required. Prerequisite: BIO 123 (1).
