2024-2025 Undergraduate Catalog

THE 3180 VOICEOVERS AND AUDIOBOOKS

This course explores four main types of voiceover work available to performers: audiobooks, animation and dubbing, commercial voiceover and narration, and video games. Student actors will explore adapting their acting analysis process for the voiceover medium, as well as their vocal delivery techniques and articulatory skillset. The process of creating a home studio for voiceover work will be examined. Students will end the course with the ability to apply their actor toolkit to the voiceover medium; develop material for a professional reel; build a cost effective, high-quality home studio; and the knowledge of where to look for relevant auditions.
