GD 4200 PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE & CAREER PREPARATION

A seminar course that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the skills and knowledge required to excel in a graphic design and advertising professional career. The course covers freelancing business practices, pitching creative work, legal and financial protections, and professional ethics and conduct. It teaches job options, interview skills, and strategies for self-promotion and networking. It also explores contemporary design issues, such as sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how they impact the profession. A personal laptop and Adobe Creative Cloud software subscription are required. Field trips, the Thinking Creatively conference, and supply fees apply.
