DPT 6100 FOUNDATIONAL ASPECTS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY PRACTICE

This course is designed to prepare students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to enter a clinical practice environment. Student will be introduced to the history and development of physical therapy profession, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and vision for the future of PT. Also includes an overview of health care system and delivery models, and HIPPA. Clinical skills include examination components, patient history, establishing patient rapport, ergonomics, guarding techniques, goniometry, clinical safety, and medical terminology.
