FULL TITLE: INTRODUCTION TO THREATRE CRITICISM AND AESTHETICS PREREQ: ENG 1030 ENROLLMENT LIMIT: 40 COURSE TYPE: General Education Distribution course option; Option for completion of B.A. in Theatre; elective for all otherrs. An introduction to formulating informed personal aesthetic and critical responses to works of theatrical art by applying philosphies of art, judgment, and analysis. Cultural context, artistic intent, value, and originality debated to define the role of theatre arts in a global society. Writing-emphasis course with regularly scheduled theatre critiques of on-and-off-campus performances. Ticket fees and transportation required for attendance at events.
