MGS 3040 MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

This course introduces students to contemporary information systems (IS) and how organizations use them. The focus is on identifying the key components of information systems-people, software, hardware, data, and procedures, and illustrating how to integrate and manage them to create competitive advantage and support the business strategy. Concepts such as business intelligence, IS security and cloud computing are also presented. Students also undertake a project where they describe and analyze a company's information system.
