PSYD 7470 APPLICATION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERVENTIONS IN SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY: PROCESS AND MECHANISMS OF CHANGE

A clinical skills course that will examine psychological interventions as a change agent in clinical-community and school settings. The empirical foundations of psychological interventions will be addressed with an emphasis on practice implications of current therapy research on readiness for change, efficacy and effectiveness, client-therapist variables and the therapeutic relationship. In addition, consideration will be given to issues relating to matching clients to intervention type as well as the theoretical, empirical and practical consideration of essential mechanisms of change in psychological treatment.
