PAS 6340 SUPERVISED CLINICAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE: WOMEN'S HEALTH
This 4-week supervised clinical practice experience provides the student with practical experience in the medical care of female and pregnant patients. Under the supervision of a clinical preceptor, the student will apply knowledge gained in the didactic phase to actual care of patients as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team. The emphasis of this experience will be on the coordination and collaboration of medical care in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings for the female patient. Students will be familiar with the diagnosis, treatment and management of the female patient while taking into consideration the additional concerns of the pregnant patient. Students will participate in the medical care of the patients and will be evaluated on the knowledge, skills and behaviors expected of a PA student member of the healthcare team in gynecology and obstetrical medicine.
