Orientation Mission: The mission of Orientation is to help adapt students to their new Kean University environment, help provide incoming students with campus resources, and gain meaningful connections. Orientation is designed to assist new students as they become active members of the Kean community and promote a smooth transition into college life.

New Student Orientation: Incoming fall freshman students attend an overnight orientation event over the summer. The two-day session will give students the experience of living in a residence hall, navigating campus, finding out about campus support services and meeting their classmates.

Transfer Orientation: Orientation for transfer students is provided in the fall and spring semester which includes presentations and information focused on academics, student services, student involvement and the tools to address common transition issues.

Family Orientation: Presentations for the families of new freshmen at Kean are held at designated times on the first day of the overnight new student orientation. Family members are provided with information on services available to students and families and guidance regarding transition-to-college issues. Ample time is given to answer any questions the family members may have and to make any necessary referrals to offices on campus.

Graduate Orientation:  Held by-annually, Graduate New Student Orientation provides an opportunity for newly admitted graduate students to become acquainted with their new campus.  Students are able to connect with their Program Coordinators in order to received advisement, register for classes, and learn about support services available to them.  University administrators will welcome the new class and students will be able to familiarize themselves with classmates and become an official Kean Cougar by getting their student identification card.
