HIST 2303 UNITED STATES HISTORY TO 1877

This course will survey American history from the Pre-Columbian period through Reconstruction. It will examine specific events such as the settlement of North America, the American Revolution, and the Civil War from a social, political, and cultural perspective. It will also explore broader themes such as the origins of freedom and slavery and the evolution of the market economy and the creation of distinct form of government.
