PORT 1102 BASIC PORTUGUESE II

Introduction to the Portuguese language, focusing on the nature between language and Luso-Brazilian cultures. Emphasis on developing grammatical competence and communicative skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the target language. Six hours of one foreign language must be successfully completed to receive three credit hours toward the General Education Disciplinary Requirement for Foreign Languages. Lab required. Prerequisite(s): 0-2 yrs high school Portuguese or equivalent and permission of instructor. Not open to native speakers of Portuguese.
