HIST 4320 PIRATES & HISTORY OF THE ATLANTIC WORLD WORLD, 1450-1800

Examination of the connections and transformations across the ?Atlantic World? (Europe, Africa, and the Americas) from the late fifteenth century until about 1800 using the theme of pirates. Topics include: colonization and settlement, labor, race and ethnicity and the role of pirates, buccaneers, and privateers who roamed the Atlantic basin during this period.
