A survey of significant foundational trends and theorists in the Western rhetorical tradition from fifth century B.C.E. Greece through nineteenth-century Europe & the United States. Examination of the development of the study of rhetoric and writing in relation to literature, language and composition. Prerequisite(s): ENG 1030, ENG 2403, or Equivalent courses
