CHEM 2584 ORGANIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY AND RECITATION II
This is the second half of a two-semester sequence in experimental organic chemistry. Students are expected to execute the fundamental laboratory techniques learned in CHEM*2583 to effectively accomplish single and multi-step syntheses. Synthetic reactions are chosen to reinforce the topics covered in lecture. Students are expected to utilize industry standard safety protocols, write professional lab notebooks/formal lab reports, characterize products using modern synthetic thechniques such as NMR, IR GC/MS. (4 hour lab/1 hour rec). Required for all BA and BS Chemistry Majors and most Biology majors. Prerequisite(s): CHEM*4581 and CHEM*2583 or permission of the instructor Co-requisite(s): CHEM*2582
