CHEM 2582L ORGANIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY II

This is the second half of a two-semester sequence in experimental organic chemistry. Students are expected to execute the fundamental laboratory techniques learned in CHEM*2581L to effectively accomplish single and multi-step syntheses. Synthetic reactions are chosen to reinforce the topics covered in lecture. Students are expected to utilize industry standard protocols, write professional lab notebooks/formal lab reports, characterize products using modern synthetic techniques such as NMR, IR, GC/MS. (4 hour lab) Required for all BA and BS Chemistry Majors and most Biology majors.

Prerequisite(s): CHEM*2581 & CHEM*2581L or permission of the instructor

Co-requisite(s): CHEM*2582
