ACCT 3240 COST ACCOUNTING

Cost accounting introduces student to powerful tools and techniques used by accountants to determine the cost of producing a product or providing a service as well as generating performance reports for management to perform their functions of planning, controlling and decision making. Students will develop an effective cost accounting system that provides information that is used for various purposes in different types of business entities. This course will place emphasis on developing various budgets, determining the cost of products and services, performing variance analysis, preparing performance reports and managing costs.
