Program Description
The Master of Arts in Instruction and Curriculum, Teaching English as a Second or other Language for the Professional Educator is designed to prepare teachers to develop an understanding of how first and second languages are learned, to acquire strategies to assist English language learners in achieving proficiency in a variety of ESL/EFL settings, and to conduct action research related to ESL/EFL teaching and learning.
Degree Requirements
Completion of one of the following Language/Cultural Learning Opportunities:
- Work or live in a setting where languages other than English are spoken
- One course (3-credits) in a foreign language
- Passing scores on OPI/WPT target language test
