NURS 3000 CONCEPTUAL FOUNDATIONS AND INQUIRY IN NURSING

A comprehensive exploration of historical and contemporary nursing and related knowledge, including systems, the metaparadigm, philosophies, conceptual models, middle and grand theories as fundamentals of research-based nursing practice; as well as recognition of the scholarly role of the nurse and the value of theory and theory development as an essential basis for professional nursing practice with diverse populations. Focus is on health promotion/risk reduction as the essence of all nursing activities in the care of individuals, families, groups, and populations in all health states and settings. The course is limited to students in the Kean BSN Program. Prerequisite: Admission into BSN Program. Type of course: Major
