Positions in Therapeutic Recreation are commonly found in physical rehabilitation departments, pediatric hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and psychiatric facilities, treatment centers, adult day care centers, community recreation agencies and home based services.

The Therapeutic Recreation Degree also includes pre-requisite courses that may be required to apply for graduate programs in the health sciences including occupational therapy. Students must have an overall 2.5 GPA to be accepted into and graduate from the Therapeutic Recreation program.
