Career Services helps students and recent graduates of Kean University identify and fulfill their career goals and provides professional development opportunities. By providing comprehensive resources, programs, and counseling on career development, employment, and graduate school, Career Services assists students and recent graduates in making important career decisions, connecting with employers, and attaining their professional goals.
Principles of service include: value each individual as unique and part of a diverse and inclusive community; provide caring and customized personalized service, and connection to the job market and the skills sets in demand; participate in partnerships with employers, campus and local communities, and academic and administrative units at Kean University to enhance the professional development of students employing the best tools – both human and technological – to maximize the accessibility and effectiveness of services.
Career Services offers workshops on Résumé Writing, Interview Preparation, Job Search skills and assists students in finding internship opportunities. It provides access to the online career/job portal with daily job openings from local, state, national and international employers. It provides on-campus Career Fairs and employer recruitment events from potential Tri-state employers. These events include Career Days, Part-Time Job Fairs, Teacher Job Fairs and frequent Employment Table Recruitment opportunities. Career assessments are also available for students and alumni to increase their awareness of options, values, and personality traits with regard to professional and career development.
