EMSE 5242 LAB/DEMO ACTIVITIES CHEMISTRY
THIS COURSE ADDRESSES LABORATORY ACTIVITIES IN THE CHEMISTRY CURRICULUM IDENTIFIED FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS AND PROVIDES PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES FOR TEACHERS TO MAXIMIZE LABORATORY LEARNING. MAJOR EMPHASES INCLUDE:ATOMIC MASS, IONIC COMPOUNDS, MOLES, CHEMICAL REACTIONS, STOICHEMISTRY, AND HEAT. APPLICATIONS OF LABORATORY EXPERIENCES TO CURRICULUM AND PROBLEM SOLVING IN CHEMISTRY WILL BE EXPLORED.
