CJ 5740 THE POLICE IN SOCIETY

This course examines modern American policing and its many challenges. Topics explored include historical trends, recruitment and training, managerial approaches, patrol and investigatory strategies, discretion, misconduct, and responsiveness to the public. Prerequisite(s): Foundations of Criminal Justice CJ 5620 or permission of instructor.
