PSYD 7207 MAR/FAM THERAPY: MODELS AND TECHNIQUES

INTRODUCTION AND COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF THEORETICAL CONCEPTS AND INTERVENTION STRATEGIES. EXAMINES BASIC PREMISES OF VARYING FAMILY THERAPY MODELS AND WAYS OF THINKING ESSENTIAL TO WORKING WITH RELATIONAL UNITS, INCLUDING COUPLES, FAMILIES AND ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEMS. INFLUENCE OF CULTURAL/ETHNIC DIFFERENCES AND THEIR EFFECT ON FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS AND FUNCTIONING. MARITAL INTERACTION, FAMILY DEVELOPMENT, PARENTING, SOCIETAL AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES INCLUDING PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS OF CONTEMPORARY METHODS IN SYSTEMIC FAMILY THERAPY.
