PSYD 6530 EXTERNSHIP IN SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY

SUPERVISED FIELD WORK IN SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY. MAY BE TAKEN FOR 1 CREDIT (A MINIMUM OF 210 HOURS), 2 CREDITS (A MINIMUM OF 420 HOURS) OR 3 CREDITS (A MINIMUM OF 630 HOURS) PER SEMESTER UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF A MINIMUM OF 630 HOURS IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL SETTING (1200 HOURS IS REQUIRED). EXTERNS MUST BE AVALIABLE DURING THE REGULAR PUBLIC SCHOOL DAY. GRADED ON A CREDIT GRANTED/ NO CREDIT BASIS. MAY BE REPEATED FOR ADDITIONAL CREDIT. PREREQUISITES: PSYD 6000, 6100, 6110, 6120, 6130, 6200, MATRICULATION IN THE PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM, AN APPROPRIATE MA DEGREE AND PERMISSION OF THE COORDINATOR. COREQUISITE: PSYD 6500 OTHER REQUISITE: POSSESSION OF A STUDENT MALPRACTICE INSURANCE POLICY ISSUED BY THE AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION OR THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS.
