CJ 5730 CRIMINAL LAW

This course consists of a general survey of criminal law in the United States including elements of crimes, applicable defenses, and sanctions. It will examine the development, structure, function, and nature of criminal law in the state and federal system. The theoretical framework and application of common and statutory law will be analyzed. Prerequisite: Foundations of Criminal Justice CJ 5620 or Permission of Instructor.
