The Entrepreneurship and Business Operations curriculum provides students with the skills necessary to own and operate their own business or to assume entry-level management positions. Completion of the two-year program earns an Associate of Applied Science degree, giving students the knowledge and skills needed to begin their own business or to manage entry-level business operations in a variety of industries. Topics of study include management philosophies and theories, organizational psychology, business strategy development, marketing principles, the ability to work successfully in teams, and analysis-based decision-making.
Demonstrate understanding of vocabulary in the functional areas of business: management, operations, marketing, and accounting/finance.
Describe how the legal, social, and ethical considerations are integrated into the operations of business.
Create a business strategy that reflects well-conducted market research, analysis of industry trends, and the identification of target markets.
Apply computer literacy skills for conducting research and analyzing market research to inform critical and creative marketing decisions; identifying new business trends, and addressing customer/client needs.
Present research, data, analysis, and conclusions through written and oral means.
Develop a comprehensive business plan that includes market analysis, financial projections, and the operational strategies necessary for launching and scaling a new venture.
Effectively pitch their business ideas to investors, customers, and stakeholders, using strong communication and persuasion skills.
