Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP)

Program Overview:

The CSI Automotive Service Education program (ASEP) is designed to provide the technical and professional competency required for GM dealership and ACDelco service center employment. The curriculum is designed in conjunction with General Motors, ACDelco and the IAGMASEP organization. The program involves classroom and lab experience on GM vehicles as well as work experience in a GM dealership or ACDelco service center. This is a limited enrollment program with additional entrance requirements.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Automotive Service Education program, a student will be able to:

1. Diagnose and repair engine mechanical concerns.
2. Diagnose and repair automatic transmission concerns.
3. Diagnose and repair manual drive train and axle concerns.
4. Diagnose and repair suspension and steering concerns.
5. Diagnose and repair brake system concerns.
6. Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic concerns.
7. Diagnose and repair heating and air conditioning concerns.
8. Diagnose and repair engine performance concerns.
9. Interact effectively with customers and colleagues.

Program Requirements for Admission:

• Program Application Required
• Take College Placement Exam scores to program advisor for interpretation
• Interview with the program manager
• Gain employment by a sponsoring GM dealership or ACDelco employer to secure a seat in the program
