This course is the culminating course in the Spanish sequence. Students are expected to be able to use increasingly complex levels of Spanish. This course will include substantive reading, discussion, composition, and grammar, with many opportunities to practice the subjunctive mood.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate creativity in using Spanish in a variety of situations.
- Develop Intermediate proficiency in reading and writing the language
- Have an appreciation of Latin American attitudes, cultural characteristics, and political realities.
- Develop ability to interpret and discuss literature and film at an intermediate level
- Know the basic geography of Spanish-speaking countries.
- Attain a conversational level of Mid-to High Intermediate (based on ACTFL standards).
- Develop ability to use the VHL Supersite for oral and written practice of Spanish
