AIRC 139 Heat Pumps
A study in general service and installation of heat pumps. Students will learn the refrigeration cycle as applied to heat pumps along with the electrical circuits and controls. Psychometrics of air will be studied along with processes of dehydration and humidification control. Cooling and heating loads will be calculated for proper application of heat pumps

A study in general service and installation of heat pumps. Students will learn the refrigeration cycle as applied to heat pumps along with the electrical circuits and controls. Psychometrics of air will be studied along with processes of dehydration and humidification control. Cooling and heating loads will be calculated for proper application of heat pumps

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the electrical system of a Heat Pump system
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the basic components that make up a Heat Pump system
- Exhibit a working knowledge of refrigerant control devices used in Heat Pump system
- Use basic diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures to make improvements or repair these systems.
- Exhibit critical thinking and problem solving in diagnosing and troubleshooting systems for repair and maintenance purposes.
