This course allows advanced printmaking students to experiment with projects of their own choice, which may be more complex, or larger in scale, than introductory assignments. Students may accumulate a maximum of 6 credit hours in this area.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

• Address formal and conceptual issues within a cohesive body of work in the discipline of printmaking
• Employ self-critiquing skills to develop autonomous expression through printmaking while recognizing the standards and definitions already established
• Create a series of prints which demonstrates an advanced level of printmaking ideas, processes, materials, and techniques.
• Model safe studio practices regarding the handling of tools, chemicals and machinery within a communal studio space.
