Program Overview:

The Visual and Performing Arts degree at the College of Southern Idaho strives to build a community of lifelong collaborative artists, musicians, dancers, and thespians of all types.  Students gain the practical and artistic skills to become artistic leaders in their communities.  They learn to articulate the value of the arts and associate cultural connections, while focusing on skills in resiliency, management, and craft necessary to conceive and complete artistic projects. The practical, collaborative, and creative skills learned through this degree provide a foundation to a number of community centered jobs in and outside of the arts. The degree guides students towards a creative centered life as a calling, profession, or avocation. Students interested in pursuing deeper academic study of the arts through transfer to bachelors degree programs have the opportunity to work with their advisors to learn about those options as they exist with our transfer partners, but everyone interested in exploring their personal creativity is welcome to be a part of this arts centered learning community.
