MEDA 201 Integrated Medical Procedures*

Students are given an awareness of professional responsibilities of the medical assistant. Leadership and community awareness qualities are explored in this course. Students will study medical office management and practicum selection, preparation, and placement. Integrated Medical Procedures combines preparing for the certification examination, using information management systems, charting and documentation, and patient teaching. Students will comply with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act, legal concepts and practice demonstrate communication techniques in cooperation with their practicum. Students will participate in developing community resources, and participate in service projects. Students will also participate in job skills training including perform job application and interview preparation skills. Prerequisite: MEDA 131.
