In this French 102 course, students will become proficient in continuing grammar, including:
demonstrative pronouns, passé composé with avoir, indirect object pronouns, regular and irregular –re verbs,
passé composé with être, direct object pronouns, adverbs, imparfait, passé composé –vs- imparfait, irregular verbs
savoir, connaitre, venir, devoir, vouloir, pouvoir, comparatives and superlatives of adjectives and adverbs, double
object pronouns, reflexive verbs, reflexive idioms, passé composé of reflexive verbs, pronouns y and en.
Students will become familiar with French Culture which will include Carnaval, le 14 juillet, la mode en France, Coco Chanel, Tahiti, le Musée d’Orsay, les Vacances, les Alpes, le ski, le logement, le Chateau Frontenac, l’intérieur de logements, le Vieux Carré, Faire des courses, les fromages français, les repas, la couscousmania, la maladie, l’Occitane, la Sécurité sociale,and L’hotel des Invalides.
Students will be novice proficient French speakers according to ACTFL guidelines.
