This course provides instruction in vector-based programs. Students will gain hands-on experience using digital vector-based programs to create images for publication

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • To understand vector tools and terminology.
  • To use Vector drawing software in practical applications.

V. Topical Outline (Course Content)

After completion of this course, the student will be able to: Differentiate between raster graphics and vector graphics; Open, import and save drawings; Customize the work area; Draw and manipulate basic and complex objects; Modify objects with fills, outlines, colors, and special effects; Modify object shapes; Duplicate, scale, mirror, rotate, align, group, and ungroup objects; Identify the different types of nodes and their use as they relate to graphic manipulation; Add and manipulate text; Work with layers; Create drawings of geometric, transparent/reflective, and organic objects; Print drawings on PostScript laser printers.
