Machining & Manufacturing Technology is a project based, hands-on program which teaches students the latest technology and techniques in the high-tech world of manufacturing. The topics include manual and CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Machining, Automation and robotics, Plastics and Molding, Process Improvement, and Design. Virtually everything we use is manufactured. Find out how and start a career in Manufacturing. Applying to this program is a separate application process from applying to the College. Upon successful completion of the Machining & Manufacturing Technology program, a student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of and safety operate a manual lathe.
  2. Demonstrate understanding of and safety operate a manual milling machine.
  3. Demonstrate understanding of and safety operate a CNC lathe.
  4. Demonstrate understanding of and safety operate a Vertical Milling Center.
  5. Demonstrate understanding of and safety operate equipment related to a machine shop such as band saws, grinders, drill press, measuring devices
  6. Demonstrate understanding of G-Code by writing programs for CNC lathes.
  7. Demonstrate understanding of G-Code by writing programs for Vertical Milling Center.
  8. Demonstrate understanding of blueprints by successfully interpreting drawings to create toolpaths using Mastercam.
  9. Produce 3D parts using sketching and CAD techniques using Solidworks.
  10. Demonstrate understanding of manufacturing concepts by project completion working within a group.

Program Admission Requirements

  1. Take CSI Placement Exam.
  2. Take CSI Placement Exam scores to program advisor for interpretation, personal interview, and program acceptance.
  3. Pay first semester’s tuition and fees to secure a slot.
