ENV-161 Environmental Systems Science
This interdisciplinary course examines fundamental physical, biological and chemical processes that interact to shape environmental systems, and provides a means of understanding current environmental problems. Dynamics of material cycling and energy flow is a key focus. Topics include: human dependence on finite natural resources, population dynamics and demography, nutrient cycles, energy use, land use, climate change, and pollution. Scientific principles are applied to current environmental problems facing our planet and society. Corequisite: ENV-161L
