Pre-Pharmacy Specialization

Completion of this specialization, along with introductory biology and chemistry sequences, will fulfill the core Pharmacy prerequisite science courses; however, each school has its own list of required courses. Students should check each school of interest for specific requirements. In addition to the science courses, most Pharmacy schools require or recommend a year of writing-focused courses (FYS + one ENG course), a year of math (Stats and Calculus), social sciences, and an economics class. Please see the C of I/ ISU cooperative program in Pharmacy for details on admission to ISU Pharmacy school. Please note that BIO 330 Cell Biology is highly recommended as a prerequisite for CHE 412 Biochemistry.
