ENV-330 Working Landscapes and Global Climate
Economic and social geography underlie cultural practices on the land in various countries and regions. In this course we will examine how various cultures' sense of place is related to their economic geography and their knowledge base about the land they occupy; we will also survey landscapes of traditional and industrial land use practices. This analysis will inform comparisons of how climate destabilization is perceived and experienced differently around the world by groups with varying degrees of subsistence-based or industrialized dependencies on the earth.
