ENG-306 The Seventeenth Century Lyric

An intensive study of English lyric poetry in one of its most flourishing periods, from the late 16th Century to the Restoration. We will study the lyricists both as literary craftsmen and as participants, through their literary work, in the political, religious, and social upheavals of the age.(Literature Seminars) Prerequisite: 200-Level English literature course (any version)
