EDEC 102 Fieldwork in Early Childhood and Infant/Toddler Mental Health I

Structured and supervised first-level observations and onsite experiences, including course embedded field assignments, in infant/toddler and preschool program settings to gain real life experience and knowledge to meet CT ECTC and Infant/Toddler Mental Health competencies. Field placements provide candidates with access to both infant/toddler and preschool children and families in classrooms and community-based agencies. The program coordinator is in charge of field placement in collaboration with school and community partners. A combined total of 45 fieldwork hours in this course, and other courses with field assignments taken within the same semester, is required. Fieldwork placement will be scheduled once a week (Monday through Friday), 8:00AM-12:00PM, in a preschool and/or infant/toddler setting. NOTE: Candidate must pass the fieldwork requirements in order to pass the course.
