HON 303 Hiv/Aids Intersections of Science and Society

Membership in honors program required. Considers the AIDS pandemic from biomedical, public health, and human rights perspectives. Students gain an appreciation of the fundamentals of infectious diseases, epidemiology, immunology, and virology. Human and societalfactors that impact the transmission, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of HIV/AIDS and vice versa will be interwoven throughout the course to provide a realistic and multidimensional view of the pandemic and its solutions.
