Information Technology, Data Science, and Cybersecurity

Marymount University offers an extensive range of educational programs to prepare students for the exciting and growing fields of information technology, and cybersecurity in particular. The programs are designed for many types of students, including current high school students, transfer students from community colleges and other institutions, individuals already in the workplace looking for promotion, and career changers with an existing degree in another field.

Undergraduate degree programs include:

  • B.S. in information technology with a specific minor
  • B.S. in cloud computing (accelerated second degree)
  • B.S. in cybersecurity (accelerated second degree)

A post-baccalaureate certificate in data science also allows students with an existing degree to obtain credentials to pursue a position in the fast-growing data science field.

Customizing your degree to your career goals is very important, and we offer technology minors in:

  • Business Analysis
  • Cloud Computing
  • Computer Science
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Science
  • Digital Forensics
  • Game Design
  • Network Security

Today information technology is everywhere, so B.S. in information technology students may also take embedded minors in a variety of areas such as business, mathematics, criminal justice, or digital arts.

Similarly, students in any other major can take a minor in information technology generally or any of the department’s specialized fields above.

B.S. in information technology students may also participate in the combined B.S./master’s programs, beginning their master’s coursework in their undergraduate programs, which reduces the time and number of credits needed to complete the B.S. in information technology and one of the following:

  • M.S. in information technology
  • M.S. in cybersecurity
  • M.B.A.

Requirements for each of these programs are given below.
