III. Catalog Course Description

This course provides both instructional and clinical learning experiences for students to integrate their nursing knowledge, skills, and attitudes for transition into nursing practice. In addition, students participate in activities to prepare to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Provide nursing care that enhances the care delivery setting to protect clients and health care personnel.
  • Provide nursing care that protects clients and health care personnel from health and environmental hazards.
  • Provides and directs nursing care that incorporates knowledge of expected growth and development principles, prevention and/or early detection of health problems, and strategies to achieve optimal health
  • Provide nursing care that promotes and supports the emotional, mental and social well-being of the client experiencing stressful events, as well as acute or chronic mental illness.
  • Provide nursing care that promotes physical health and wellness by providing comfort and assistance in the performance of the activities of daily living.
