This course is a broad survey of mythologies from Western and Eastern world cultures. Students will analyze, discuss, and write about world mythologies and their relationship to contemporary culture.

- Develop a working definition of myth;
- Use various methodologies for understanding myths;
- Generally place myths within historical, cultural contexts;
- Understand the function of myths in society both historically and today; continue to develop analytical and critical thinking skills through discussion and writing.
